Day-to-Day

The typical schedule will consist of a mix of private lessons, master classes, theory classes, group performance classes, practice time, group activities, and sessions led by institute staff and special guests. In these sessions, students will learn about topics such as music from across the globe, practice tips, music listening, stress management/relief, as well as other important topics for being a musician. Participants will have a balance of strengthening their musical skills while also having fun with other participants! By the end of the week, the students will be prepared for upcoming performances, have new friends, and develop a deeper passion for music.

We strongly recommend that participants pack a lunch, however, if that is not possible they may use DoorDash. Dining halls and Armstrong Student Center may not be open during the duration of the institute.

Students will perform at the end of the week on Friday, June 14 throughout the day in Souers Recital Hall (Center for Performing Arts). Students may perform solo or be assigned to a small ensemble group to perform, depending on instrument and interest of the student. The recital schedule will be sent out by the start of the institute.

    3. The video should clearly show the student’s instrument.

    4. The name of the piece and composer(s) should be listed somewhere in the submission.
